About Ionae's Studio

Hey there, and welcome to Ionae’s Studio! I make beautiful, hand-crafted jewellery with a love for timeless style and the natural world. My pieces are all about quality, simplicity, and a touch of elegance - each one thoughtfully made using recycled sterling silver and a whole lot of love.​​

I started out in my Grandma’s basement studio, learning the basics of silversmithing and making my first pair of sea-glass earrings. I fell in love with the craft pretty quickly and have been honing my skills ever since- through a mix of classes and lots of hands-on time in my home studio.

A lot of my inspiration comes from the world around me. I grew up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, with the ocean out the front and national parks out the back, so nature’s always been a big part of my life.

I mainly work with boulder opals that still have the natural ironstone running through them. I love how the earthy stone contrasts with the vibrant flashes of colour in the opal- it gives each stone a raw, organic feel and makes every piece one of a kind. The patterns are never the same, so it feels like each stone has its own little story.

Ionae’s Studio is committed to reducing waste and combating fast fashion, embracing the principles of slow fashion in every step of the process. I ensure all packaging is plastic-free, staying true to my eco-conscious values.
